Anani Klutse is the Founder and President of Melkios. He structures surety, trade credit and specialty insurance as capital markets instruments: credit enhancement that releases bank capacity, replaces cash collateral and moves counterparty risk off a lender's balance sheet so that complex transactions can close on bankable terms.
Before founding Melkios, Anani led corporate lending and structured trade finance mandates at Export Development Canada and ATB Financial, where he structured credit and collateral for lenders and sponsors on cross-border transactions. He began his career in investment banking in Europe. He holds a Master of Applied Science in Mathematics and Statistics (University of Paris XII) and an MBA in Financial Engineering (IONIS Management School, Paris).
Melkios advises large corporates, EPC contractors and project sponsors directly, increasingly at the request of corporate treasury teams seeking surety and guarantee capacity without drawing on bank lines or tying up liquidity. The practice covers performance and financial guarantees, surety and surety reinsurance, trade credit, export credit agency programs, cross-border M&A and offshore structures, working alongside Schedule I and specialty lenders where required. The discipline is consistent across all of it: converting complex credit and performance risk into capital-efficient structures that reduce exposure, release capacity and get transactions to close.
